About Crysis as a game (not a benchmarking tool)
I notice Crysis is often tested on GPUs, though most versions aren’t played much. I’ve never actually played the game, so my thoughts are just a fresh perspective on an FPS. Since I haven’t spent even a few hours with it, I’m not trying to judge based on limited impressions. Before investing money, would you all think it’s a solid title? I’m not keen on checking Kotaku, IGN, or similar sites—I prefer hearing directly from people who’ve played it. Maybe some of the reviews missed key strengths or weaknesses that real users noticed. I won’t try to get an unauthorized copy either.
I enjoyed it, the story wasn't great but it was fine. However, I found Crysis 3 to be quite engaging.
My favorite one is crysis 2. I cant remember why I played that game so many times....>< I still feel like the story of the game is ok. People play it coz it is a eye candy game. If your graphics card is good enough to push all the pixels and details out, it is an AMAZING graphical journey.
In singleplayer it's fine, the gameplay is fun but the story doesn't stand out. For multiplayer it looks a bit off; there aren't many servers and the netcode isn't great. On Origin the game is currently discounted at 5€, which makes it a good deal for me because the overall experience was solid.
In my view, the intro is overly long and you shouldn’t skip it. As you mentioned, it’s a great singleplayer experience. Extremely concise, and most Crysis 3 multiplayer servers are outdated. It took me around 4 to 5 hours to finish the campaign. On my PC, performance stays steady at 50-60fps, though it drops during intense moments. I only experienced lag spikes once. Most people buy it because it’s visually impressive and fun to explore. I can’t argue with that.
It seems you're thinking about acquiring some titles. I'm steering clear of problematic games lately because Steam's been acting up, and I'm unsure if Origin offers refunds. Plus, I'm opting for a brand new copy from a nearby store that's currently discounted by 70%—though they don't accept returns (just a guess). I'm also avoiding games that feel mediocre with limited return options, even though I didn't really enjoy Fallout 4 enough to want a refund.
Fallout 4 stands apart from previous titles and newer games like Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. It introduces features such as usable vats, perk trees, and more. You should definitely give it a try. The campaign is excellent, and the current pricing makes it very affordable. Just remember you can only play on two servers, so don't rely on multiplayer. Also, you can set up multiple profiles without losing your progress—something I appreciate in Crysis 3's campaign.
