He mentioned using a Ryzen 7 3800X with an AORUS AXIO B450 chipset, but the FPS drops in games during streaming. He noted that the X570 was returned for repair because of issues, and he believes it’s not worth using it with a Ryzen 7. Since he hasn’t overclocked his CPU, GPU, or RAM on the X570, others might have similar experiences. If you buy a similar setup with a Ryzen 5 3600, will you face the same problems?
The form factor is unrelated to what you're discussing. That's not the boards' responsibility.
They claim a specific B450 model isn't suited for 3800x and x570 ITX boards due to RMA issues. Others haven't encountered much about the second point.
Typically B450 iTX boards have a better VRM setup.... Handle 105w? Sure my ROG handles a 2700x just fine. Plenty of EDC and PPT current headroom too. Id have to be honest, my itx board is one of my favorite of all times so far.
The only factor the board influences here is power delivery and airflow. In some cases, if the board is poorly designed, it might cause the CPU to slow down or not reach its maximum speed. But this is unlikely to be significant. The ITX design isn't related to performance; it's mainly about compactness. Cooling challenges come from the small size, making thermal throttling a real concern. You could fit an ITX board into a full ATX case, but there’s usually limited space for cooling—unless you have a 240mm AIO, which still tends to make things hotter. Running a 3600 is easy, and even budget coolers like the Hyper 212 should work well.
I understand the reason, but he mentioned that when I received the X570 motherboard from RMA, the B450 itx didn’t perform as well as the X570, even without overclocking.
He can't manage the 3800 MHz, his X570 is now broken, so he bought a different B450 for the second setup. He also offered me that motherboard at a low cost. I just thought about trying it with the R5 3600.
He mentioned pairing an Aorus B450 with an ITX Pro Wi-Fi, R7 3800X, M.2 Aorus 1TB Gen 4, and RTX 2080 Super.
