Hi,
I own an AB350M Pro4.
With a Ryzen 1200 processor, the stable maximum speed I reach is only 3850Mhz, so I need to adjust the CPU voltage to 1.4V already... and also experiment with 1.8V to 1.85V.
I’ve read many reviews suggesting that users can achieve 3.9-4.1Ghz at 1.4V without issues... I can do it, but Prime95 tests fail after just a few minutes.
For memory overclocking, I’m using an HX424C15FBK2/8, which allows me to safely reach up to 2666Mhz. For 2800Mhz I set the voltage to 1.35V and relaxed the timings, but Prime95 still fails after half an hour. For 2933Mhz it also fails quickly.
Some reviewers mentioned that this memory kit can easily reach 3000Mhz, and up to 3200Mhz with timing adjustments.
Perhaps this board isn’t very overclock friendly?

The Ab350m is a micro ATX board, which likely sets the upper limit, but even without it, I wouldn't expect anything beyond 3.9, making 3.85 reasonable.

3.85GHz works well, but outcomes vary—some succeed, others don't.
You mentioned needing a 1.8V CPU voltage to reach 3.8Ghz; these chips perform best at 1.45V.
Regarding the RAM, could you share your current speed? I believe it's around 2400MHz, so overclocking to 2666MHZ is the expected result.

Hello. According to furkan68k18, each chip overclocks uniquely, and the key point about overclocking is your motherboard's capabilities. Since yours seems to be relatively low-end, I doubt it can sustain higher clock speeds. Have you attempted to overclock just the CPU while keeping RAM at its default settings? Prime 95 not only affects the CPU but also the RAM, so any minor instability might worsen if you change the RAM settings.

Only the CPU OC is at 1.4V 3850Mhz. It's unclear if the Ryzen 1200 or Ab350M Pro4 achieves its full capacity, as both are considered entry-level parts.
