A8-9600 APU paired with Windows 7 Ultimate
I just installed a new setup and am trying to run my only OS available. I’m encountering a stop error 0x000000A5 because the BIOS isn’t fully ACPI compliant. I’m hoping to get Windows 7 working, as that’s what I really need. Details about the hardware: AMD A8-9600 MSI A320M PRO-VH PLUS, Kingston Hyper X Fury 4GB.
I'm uncertain about the A8-9600's compatibility with Windows 7. It might not work either, since it's a Bristol Ridge model without a Ryzen processor. However, technically this AMD line doesn't support Windows 7. Start by resetting the CMOS. If installation still fails, verify your source media is in good condition. For a CD, ensure it's not damaged. If using a USB drive, attempt to reinstall Windows 7 from there. If that doesn't work, download the Windows 10 ISO and install it onto a USB drive instead. You can keep an inactive Windows 10 version indefinitely, with minor restrictions, or purchase a 10 Pro key from a major online auction site for $4.
I think the AM4 platform is more relevant than Bristol Ridge in this case, especially since it doesn’t support Windows 7. The user should be able to use their Windows 7 Ultimate key on Windows 10 Pro if they still possess that key.
You can set it up and utilize it at no cost. A watermark is present, but the Windows 7 key from your 10-year-old system should work.
