A320M-S2H 3rd Gen Assistance
He wants me to assemble a computer to swap in for his 8-year-old HP Desktop. Since he doesn’t do heavy tasks or put too much strain on the CPU, I think it makes sense to purchase a budget board for around $50 and save $25–30 to pair with an affordable dual or quad-core Ryzen APU. Upgrading RAM and other components shouldn’t be an issue. The key concern is whether the board supports the 3rd generation Ryzen right out of the box. I’m checking if any recent buyers have had success using it with 3rd Gen Ryzen.
The box doesn’t show the 'Ryzen Ready' mark, but an MB box would display it if it’s prepared for Ryzen 3 from the start.

The price matches the others, yet the MSI Max line comes with the latest BIOS updates built in!
Oh no, this setup is really bad. The VRM on the board is weak, and there’s no proper heatsink for the MOSFETs. They aren’t strong enough to handle many CPUs well. Here’s the recommended build: the lowest model with BIOS included works fine, but if you need more power, consider this alternative: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6d9tt6/...pro-m2-max. For a basic office setup, you can save around $5 by using the stock cooler. It should function adequately.
It's a bit disappointing, but I noticed there wasn't a heatsink available. The only one I found fit the budget was the 450mm model.
5 phase VRM setup with 3 units for Vcore and 2 for SOC. For the SOC version it works just fine. True, though the lower budget doesn’t offer much to work with. I should admit I didn’t go through the entire OP, so you could run the A320 with the stock cooler for office-level tasks.
It's true, I'm okay with it operating through an office system that relies solely on air coolers.
