Yes, you'll need an original Ryzen processor to upgrade the BIOS. AMD offers a program for this. The A320 model is recommended, while B450/B550 provide better overclocking options and additional benefits.

The A320 ended some time ago, and it seems OP likely already has the motherboard installed. Based on the label, @MakoMaki18 can quickly spot the BIOS version needed for a Ryzen 3000 CPU. You’ll notice the newest BIOS now officially supports the 3600XT, 3800XT and 3900XT models, which are the latest in the final 3000 series.

Updated BIOS installed without issues. If you try CPU upgrade before the motherboard, it’s safe to use A320M with BIOS F52 for testing at 3600 RPM.
