You rushed through the repairs and missed a few steps. You didn’t verify if the laptop would power on before replacing the screen and left the battery connected. While working, a flex cable touched a capacitor, causing a small amount of smoke. Did it damage the device? What should you do to fix it? Are there any resistors or capacitors you can replace? I’m not sure if you can handle a chip, but any advice or a guide would be super helpful.

Located the diagrams but haven't set up boardview yet. Looks like this might be a tough fix. From the signs, the component was exposed to very high current. If the PCB got fried, this repair could be costly. Shorting a power rail to the eDP line might have damaged the CPU, which is a serious issue. Leaving the battery connected is a major error.

The metal section of the cable made contact with the R22 block immediately next to it. The injury occurred on the opposite side of the PCB, just beneath the block.
