Hey there. I understand there are plenty of discussions around this topic. My goal is just to confirm I'm not missing anything. If it's the usual problem, that's what it looks like. I'll handle it using hibernate. (Also a bit off-topic, but the only place I found lid closure settings was in the control panel? Yikes...)

Right now I'm using a Surface Laptop 4 with a Ryzen 5 processor and Windows 11. From what other users report, sometimes after moving the laptop out of a bag or leaving it at home, its battery drops from full to around 15% in about 8 to 10 hours. In both scenarios, it was plugged in overnight, then unplugged without opening it, and later opened again after roughly 10 hours.

I finally checked the sleep study reports I downloaded—it shows the same pattern: it wakes up for a few seconds, then sleeps briefly, and keeps cycling until it stops. The Windows settings list it as the default lock screen, but the report says [NONE], which surprised me since that feature seemed useful. What do you think? Check out the links I shared: sleepstudy-report-1-19.html and sleepstudy-report-1-24.html.

Power usage continues even when asleep. Hibernation, however, eliminates this need. Turning off and restarting the device helps too, but it looks like your laptop might be waking up because of a locking issue or some unexpected reason. A quick search suggests this is common on certain surfaces, and the best fix is to enable hibernation mode.

It seems like the data suggests a pattern of awakenings without clear cause, possibly tied to an unknown reason. I noticed limited sleep study details, mainly questions about why an application ID is needed.
