You're looking to buy a motherboard for your Ryzen 5 3600 in Canada with a $150 CAD budget. You want to moderately boost the CPU performance and don’t mind RGB lighting. The ideal choice should have Wi-Fi, include at least three case fans, and fit within your price range.

You might want to check if your current setup can run on a newer Ryzen without needing an older one.

You’ll get PCI Gen 4 support, letting you install NVMe SSDs smoothly. This means you won’t need to switch to PCI-E X8 anytime soon—your setup stays modern for a decade or more.

I recently purchased an ASRock B450m Pro4 (I’m excited about the motherboard, this is my second one) and it came in a few days—stamped with a Ryzen 3000 label. I also received two copper coins from Newegg.

Only a few components can remain functional for a decade, yet this refers to the final AM4 socket type.

How frequently should a CPU be upgraded? Before you own this model, you started with an i5-750.

Regardless of if the BIOS is up to date or not, it has a BIOS flash button on the IO. So you could update the bios without a CPU installed at all

This happens rarely. You're right, it's not common. I usually do it more often—my setup is way more frequent than anyone else's home.
