Regrettably, a small amount of water splashed onto the motherboard (I noted that spot). Fortunately, the computer was powered off and unplugged. In my region, 90% isopropyl alcohol isn’t accessible. I have a 70% isopropyl alcohol pad available. I cleaned the affected area with it. Let the board dry. After 24 hours, I reassembled the computer and everything functioned correctly. My main worry now is whether future issues like rusting or corrosion might arise...
It seems okay likely, particularly if it functions properly now. Water doesn’t always pose a threat to parts, but short circuits are a concern. Because isopropyl alcohol dries rapidly, you can assume the water content has decreased too. The chances of rusting should be low.
It's water, it dried out. Everything is fine. PCBs also have a protective coating, though not for water resistance—it's just another layer. All good, return to using your computer.
70% isopropyl alcohol works if it's dry after use. Corrosion would be slower, and it likely evaporated within a few minutes.
