Previously I upgraded to an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X and everything functioned smoothly. Around 1-2 months ago I observed Core 4 Thread 1 sometimes shutting down unexpectedly—possibly triggered by a game, program, or simply without clear cause. In Task Manager and HWInfo it shows near zero usage (HWInfo reveals up to 1% max). The issue resolves after a restart and the thread operates normally again. It remained consistent across several Windows versions. This behavior doesn<|pad|>'s not affect system stability or performance; it merely reduces efficiency slightly. I didn’t capture a screenshot before restarting and attempted to induce it using what I thought was a cause, but it no longer occurs. It appears Core 4 Thread 1 stays idle at minimal usage regardless of actions (even with Prime95 running afterward, it caps at 1%). Anyone has insight on this?

I first encountered this when I realized a CPU core might have a minor flaw, causing it to run less efficiently or produce more heat than usual. The branching circuit assigns all tasks to the more efficient and cooler threads, or something comparable. You might want to reach out to AMD to check if they have a fix for this unusual behavior. If you can share benchmarks showing reduced performance versus a standard CPU, it could help demonstrate underperformance. Otherwise, it seems the CPU is functioning properly.

I'll check if AMD can assist me. If it doesn't, I'll share Task-Manager/HWInfo screenshots here next time.

Here we go again. The reason isn't clear. I didn't make it to reach out to AMD yet.

they don't even have to show it's doing poorly... a fundamental issue means nothing, performance will definitely suffer

Through handling returns and exchanges, you realize that every convincing item holds value—often more than once. Some businesses are straightforward to persuade, while others can be challenging and stressful. Be prepared ahead of time to avoid regret.

Absolutely, that's accurate. On the flip side, it really depends on whether they meet their commitments or not—generally Amazon handles this well even outside warranty periods. It's similar to saying my Toyota only has three wheels, and Toyota would just need proof it's worse!
