A significant event in the upcoming Star Citizen weekend
Tomorrow's Saturday marks the beginning of Citizen Con in Manchester, UK. Their most recent public gathering in August received positive feedback for demonstrating that essential technical components are aligning, allowing them to integrate various elements of SC into a cohesive experience. However, recent discussions have sparked controversy from figures like Derek Smart and The Escapist, who accuse Chris Roberts of poor management and claim the project is overly ambitious or merely a hype product. While these points aren't decisive, the event presents a significant chance for Roberts to present tangible progress and reassure skeptics. As an enthusiastic supporter without financial backing, I hope to see more details about Squadron 42's upcoming single-player campaign, slated for release around 2016 (originally 2015). If they share gameplay footage from the first installment, it could help ease concerns. CitizenCon will be streamed live at http://www.twitch.tv/starcitizen, starting at 1900 GMT.
It's a plus when a project is far along in its development. Fascinating!
I don’t really enjoy conventions, but I’ll probably tune in just in case. They might display some nice content! It seems unrelated to anything important. There are conventions all the time for trivial or pointless activities. It’s strange they hold one when the game isn’t done yet—like asking why studios waste time at E3 showing future titles. They shouldn’t bother if the phones won’t be released soon. What’s the reason for IFA when none of those devices will be available?
