You have a small Lenovo Mini PC with upgraded SSD and 32GB RAM, running Windows 10. Upgrading to Windows 11 isn't possible due to the outdated CPU, and you only use it for basic tasks like banking, social media, emails, and avoiding risky sites. With October's update deadline approaching, you should be concerned about potential security risks if you keep using it beyond next year.

Choose between 32GB of RAM or 32GB of emmc/ssd storage? If the latter, think about installing Linux.

As mentioned earlier, if you only need it for simple tasks like banking, Facebook, YouTube, and emails, a Linux distribution would work just fine. I suggest using Linux Mint.

MS has confirmed that Windows Defender updates will remain accessible through 2028.
I wouldn't be concerned.

Is Defender classified as a '365 app'?
"To assist in keeping your system secure during the shift to Windows 11, Microsoft will keep offering security patches for Microsoft 365 applications on Windows 10 for another three years after the end of support for Windows 10. These patches will be shared via regular update methods, concluding on October 10, 2028."

In any case, I will be aware through my ongoing Win 10 VM.
On Dec 8, 2016 I was set up but not activated.
Since then it has been running mostly around the clock.
It receives all the standard updates.
We'll find out what happens in October.
