I've tackled several Windows issues online, but this was unfamiliar territory. The situation unfolded when I used a public computer to save important photos. I wasn't certain if the machine was infected with malware. After returning home and inserting my pen drive, I discovered additional files containing those images. When I opened an unknown file, it generated a .txt file. I saved one of the pictures and formatted the drive. Opening the image revealed a folder I had previously deleted, which now auto-creates itself each time I view photos. Changing the folder title restored it, but I still can't recover my drives. The antivirus scan didn’t detect anything, leaving me in a difficult spot.

File name and related details would be useful. It seems the system stored image metadata, possibly from a previous attempt. You might try saving again in a different format to resolve the problem.

OK so this is what i did afterwards and where i am now, I tried to see if the problem was with the pictures so i tried using another software, Picasa 3 and it doesn't automatically creates the file so it seems that the problem is with Windows Photos. so i tried uninstalling it and removing its files from registry and from within C:/Windowsapps and start from scratch, thought it would somehow fix the problem but no after i reinstalled it, Photos created the file again. So i thought would this happen on a another user account so i created another account on my windows, and the problem doesn't happen there. i can open Photos and it doesn't create the file there but it creates the file on my main user account. Open Photos = Random file "a" inside "a" is "Saved Picture" and the file is empty.
