Usually you can clear the CMOS by using a jumper or removing the battery. Premium motherboards often have a dedicated clear CMOS button, but with your setup you might only have jumper options or need to remove the battery. There could be BIOS settings that reset the system to defaults if it won’t boot after a few attempts.

This is happening when you wipe your memory and the board won't respond, preventing access to BIOS and forcing you to reset components like the jumper or remove the battery. I don’t have the clear CMOS button for MSPI boards like the B450M Mortar Max. It’s really time-consuming dealing with each timing adjustment, which is why I’m wondering if there’s a BIOS feature to speed this up or make it automatic.

That's not great, but I see you have a memory reset option when the board auto-OC and it behaves like your idea. If the board refuses to post twice, it reverts to more relaxed timing settings.

The entire Usmus tutorial on Techpowerup seems like a lengthy process, while using the simple input method from the dram calculator is much easier.

I've noticed the program isn't fully helpful. It's meant to provide rough estimates only. This is because overclocking comes with risks—most boards will attempt adjustments three times, and on the fourth try they'll switch to safe mode by pressing F1 and continuing. It will take a short while, but good luck!
