A powerful gaming computer struggles to operate certain simple video games—please assist.
I don't even understand what XMP mode is, so it’s unlikely to be helpful, but I will run it overnight tonight and observe the results. When I referred to “cable extensions,” I meant the ones available for purchase online in various colors, such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0719Q59YC
If it’s not activated automatically, then I haven't turned it on. I believe my computer should still function properly with TNT explosions in Minecraft, even without that feature.
You can attempt two different troubleshooting steps:
1) Experiment by utilizing just a single RAM module set simultaneously. Eight gigabytes remains sufficient for gaming performance when no other applications are active. Test each pair separately.
2) If you don't require lengthy power supply cables, utilize the original ones provided with your PSU. For convenience, swap out the cables connected to the graphics card initially. While the GPU may still function, it won’t operate at its optimal speed if it lacks adequate wattage.
I’m continuing to see 100% GPU utilization, so I'm not sure if that’s the issue, but I will certainly investigate the RAM. If that doesn’t resolve anything, I’ll then look at the PSU extensions. Thanks everyone for your assistance; I really appreciate it.
