I’m unsure whether this is the appropriate place to post, and I apologize in advance.

I can't recall whether it was a physical disc or simply a digital download, but I’m certain it originated in the early 2000s on Windows 98, at least that’s what I believe. The protagonist was a spherical character navigating an arena, controlled by mouse clicks to move in desired directions. Gameplay involved battling other non-player character balls, maneuvering through the environment, gathering projectiles, and avoiding enemy fire, all while attempting to eliminate opponents. Different ball types possessed unique abilities tied to their specific ammunition. I am absolutely certain the game was titled “Ball Master,” though searching for it online has yielded no relevant results. A sequel followed, introducing custom maps, additional ball characters and adversaries, and expanded features. Nobody I’ve consulted in person recognizes the game I describe.

This resembles a similar experience to Wizball, a classic game for the Commodore 64.

I recently glanced at it. Absolutely not the same game. The one I’m recalling wasn't a horizontal scrolling adventure, but rather a top-down battle arena style game. I recall one character being presented as a basic smiley face, and his primary tool was a single-use yellow laser. I’m not sure that information is particularly helpful, honestly.
