I’ll stick to the basics. If you bought Windows 8.1 after July 29, 2015, and it’s still available, you should be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free within a year if it’s released then.

It seems to check if things are still okay or getting worse. I have Windows 10 on my laptop and it works well for gaming. Usually I play Dota and keep frame rates under 40 FPS, even for a game that doesn’t require much power. Now it runs at 50 to 60 FPS, which is great so far. But I’m not sure how others feel about this change.

I've been using Windows 10 on my HTPC for 3 to 6 months without any problems, and it performs excellently on my desktop.
