You've noticed some performance issues with the game, especially when graphics are turned off. It seems the game freezes frequently after a short period, even though it runs okay at lower settings. This could be due to either a bug in the game or limitations of your system. Your hardware appears capable, meeting the minimum requirements, so the problem might lie elsewhere.

Not yet officially available. Think of the kind of stuff you see in beta tests. Isn't that right?

I’m thinking about purchasing a GTX970 in the near future, which sounds great

It's a good deal. The 8350 is quite appealing and reasonably affordable lately.

Remember Star Citizen is still in pre-alpha, not beta. These problems may arise, but I doubt a 7790 fix will be sufficient.

It's considered early pre-alpha since not every module can be integrated for the alpha or pre-alpha phase.

Not designed for Star Citizen; it will run on four cores and spread the workload. If the program were simpler—just one or two threads—there could be a performance issue. This is common in many games, though not in Star Citizen.
