A new playthrough of STARFIELD came out today. It shows off fighting, exploring, and changing up your gear.
Hey, just in case you haven't heard about this game yet, Bethesda has made a new video showing what they have coming for their space RPG called Starfield. This clip is almost fifteen minutes long and shows lots of things like fighting, exploring the world, and making your character. I'm not big on space games but this one looks really good to me too. They have guns and shooting stuff in first-person mode which is like a shooter game (FPS). If you want to know more go read below. At the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase today fans at last got what they've wanted since 2018. The first video of Starfield shows here, you can watch about fifteen minutes of new footage. Just as important too, Bethesda answered some big questions about flying in space, exploring planets, etc. If you were wondering if planets would work like the magic dungeons from Skyrim with separate areas for each place on a planet's surface, no those won't happen. Starfield has 100 different star systems and over 1,000 different planets. And according to Todd Howard all of those planets are fully explorable land anywhere on any planet get out start exploring. We see that in the new video clip. You land on a planet look at some alien stuff find resources from a rock wall then find a place where pirates run things. There is shooting, throwing grenades and a space shotgun finishes off the bad guys. The player finds a new weapon before fighting more pirates outside using a jetpack to jump across gaps and fight more enemies. Action goes over to New Atlantis which is their capital city meet some friends make chat about weird items and visions. Then Todd Howard shows you Starfield's character creation tools and starter traits which include good things and bad things and skills you unlock as you get stronger. And a big question has at last been answered. You can build your own spaceship and take it with your crew of friends. Yes, you can actually fly it. Fighting spaceships in space? Confirmed. Some fans thought the ship would just be a base with flying being a loading screen after picking a spot but the video shows how to move from system to system and planet to planet. I expected Skyrim in space but honestly this looks more like Fallout in space with making weapons building outposts and ships, and skills and perks we saw in the trailer. One thing is sure: with 1,000 different planets it looks much bigger than any Bethesda RPG ever made. It has been a long wait for loyal Bethesda astronauts. Starfield was first talked about at E3 back in 2018. It took three more years before the official video teaser was shown in June of 2021. Originally planned for release on November 11th, 2022 Bethesda said in May that it would be delayed until 2023. We still don't have a concrete date however. This message comes straight from Bethesda.
Here is a BIG NEW WORLD coming your way. 25 years of hard work are ready, so Starfield is taking us to space! Back in the year 2330, you will join Constellation, which means you are one of only a few groups left flying through the galaxy looking for secret treasures. Go out into the stars and meet cool new people on an adventure to figure out what's waiting beyond our planet.
LEVEL UP YOUR HERO. Because this is just like Bethesda, making games that feel real, choosing how your character looks and acts is very important. When you pick your look in the menu, it shows exactly how much freedom you have. You decide who you are and who you become.
GROW IN THE STARS. To show off your skill, build small towns or research stations on the new planets you find. These places let you get supplies that can help you fix your tools, change your guns, and make sure you stay safe when things go wrong.
FIGHT AND FLY YOUR SHIP. Put your own ship together with cool parts inside and outside it. Then use it to fly around and fight enemies in real time.
GO FREE TO EXPLORE. The show also showed us pictures of the places on the planets like Kreet, which has strange animals and scary pirates called the Crimson Fleet. But this is just one place among many! As Howard said, "It's not just this planet, it's all the planets in our system... and not just these systems, but more than a hundred systems with over 1,000 planets to visit."
Bethesda says they can't wait for everyone to try the game. "Making this has been an amazing journey for us," Howard added. "But we know that's only the start; it's when YOU play it that the story truly begins."
So where will Starfield take you? It comes out on Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2023. You can play right away if you have an Xbox Game Pass subscription. The year is now 2330. Humanity has left our solar system to live on new planets, becoming a space-faring people. Starting as miners, you will join Constellation—the last group of explorers—to find rare treasures in the galaxy. You will travel through the Settled Systems, Bethesda's biggest and most ambitious game. This next generation role-playing game lets you create any character you want and explore with total freedom to answer one big question: What is out there?
It looks really good. There aren't many things I don't like about it. Games with a lot of player choice usually make me worry that I'm going to pick the wrong ones, so I hope they tell if you can change those choices later on.
Yeah, the game really looks good so far. Luckily we also got first-person shooting and fighting as part of it, and those guns feel pretty strong. If this was just a space exploration thing or an RTS (like StarCraft) or a space simulator with all that fluff, then Bethesda would have been disappointed because they're usually not the type to mess around with quality control like that. But here we are making what looks like a big AAA blockbuster title. We still have more work to do though, and it could take another year or even longer if Bethesda runs into trouble during production.
Yeah the last one they talked about having a huge world was Fallout 76, but it started in bad shape back then. They say this stuff is already being made before launch, so maybe that will show up soon. A game with lots of extra content could have more bugs too, so I guess we'll just keep waiting to see what happens.
