A new inquiry regarding the modded version of Skyrim.
Following the JK's overhaul installation I'm noticing FPS fluctuations in both city and landscape scenes. My CPU usage stays under 80% while my GPU reaches its maximum of 70%. VRAM sits at 2.5GB out of a total 3GB. I've experienced drops to 45 before the update, but now it's around 30—close to the playable threshold. Could this be due to the engine handling many objects in the scene? Or are there adjustments I could make to better utilize my hardware? I don't have experience with LOOT or mod organizers like wyrebash and I'm not planning to explore them. BOSS reports no errors, and my INI settings have only minor changes.
It just doesnt seem right im getting low fps when theres cpu/gpu power still available. Right, well ... thanks for the input i guess
I hoped for some improvements to make the game run smoother. I’m okay with 30 frames per second if it means I can still use my setup. I also see others using more mods and getting better performance on comparable or even lower systems. If it’s not about the hardware, then what’s really affecting the frame rate?
I tried adjusting a few things and discovered the object fade slider had the biggest impact on frame rate. Setting it to the lowest restored 60 fps consistently, while keeping everything else at full speed. I then gradually increased it back and noticed a noticeable jump around the 7 setting. For me, 6 gave perfect 60 fps, but 7 and 8 dropped it to 30. It worked out for me—prefer not to lower settings when both GPU and CPU aren’t at their peak usage. This seems to be a resolved issue. Thanks!
