I can eliminate tabs and links I never use. The "Community" tab would be the last thing I keep. My goal is a super minimal Steam client—Steam’s design has stayed the same since its last major update, with only minor cosmetic tweaks. A snap feature would be great, letting me organize my friends list and games in one place without switching tabs. Everything I need should be right where I can see it.

We should abandon this overly simple approach. It took me twenty minutes yesterday to locate something in a program because it was hidden in a confusing menu when it should have been obvious. The desire for everything to look neat has pushed features and usability into the background. Sadly, that’s exactly what would happen if Steam were altered. It wouldn’t become extremely customizable; instead, things would just disappear from view.

Only 25% of what Steam offers really matters to me. It feels like unnecessary clutter and pointless engagement.

They must completely refresh the client setup. If not, merge the big picture mode with the regular client so you can at least use a controller while navigating menus after exiting a game via controller. Also, I’d like Valve to speed up adding and removing mods from the workshop without needing to reload the page constantly. /rageover

The design isn't appealing without the Metro theme.

I only focus on the store and library sections; it’s easy to overlook everything else. I hardly even notice their presence anymore.

I think steam is turning into unnecessary software, and it's high time we cut back a bit.
