I feel a bit awkward asking this, but could having your USBs constantly powered affect your devices over time? Specifically, the mouse, keyboard, or motherboard? Or is it just increasing power consumption? I’m curious if it causes lasting damage or if it’s mainly about using more energy. LEDs do get more use, but with their long lifespan does that really matter?

It shouldn't impact hardware unless the design is fundamentally flawed. Idle components use minimal energy. Some might claim it's preferable to have idle parts running with very low consumption instead of shutting them down entirely. For instance, idle power usage could generate just enough heat to maintain a more stable environment for chips and internal parts.

Thanks for the note. I thought it wasn’t important, but it’s definitely something I haven’t explored before.
