He might face several problems if he doesn't have the right USB ports or technical skills, but many issues could be prevented with proper preparation.

Depends heavily on luck since windows behaves unpredictably here. Problems might arise later, like system slowdowns or crashes, and it’s often safer to begin fresh.

You can take steps to minimize problems by staying organized, preparing ahead, and addressing potential challenges early.

You would restart your computer and then follow the installation prompts to reinstall Windows.

Obtain a USB drive. An 8GB generic USB is very affordable. Create a bootable USB using the Windows Media Creation Tool and you're ready to go.

A few issues, just a quick lockdown. My friend isn’t really technical.

Order one and pick it up at a grocery store during your shopping trip. There are many choices that pose no extra risk or increase it. You can also chat with them over a video call. I've done this repeatedly, and if people follow instructions without thinking, it's very straightforward. Be clear and keep things simple. For example, when you need to wipe your drive, choose disk 0 and click delete. Repeat this for each disk labeled disk 0, one by one. Once done, you'll see unallocated space available. Pick that and click next. Just do a basic task without needing to understand the details—just stay patient.

Choose any USB storage device with a minimum of 8GB (ideally 16GB or more) and USB 3.0 for quicker performance. Create a bootable installation media using available guides from Microsoft. Ensure your USB includes the most recent GPU driver. Install Windows on your computer, though avoid connecting it to the internet until you’re comfortable with updates. Apply the newest GPU driver, then access the internet. Update Windows to the latest version. Purchase a valid Windows activation key from trusted sources to enable your system. Remember, fresh installations are preferable since old drivers can cause persistent issues later.
