My pc wont turn on, no bios or anything. after about 10 seconds the cpu debug-light on the mobo comes on. I want top test the cpu in my brothers mobo, but i dont want to break his. The motherboard is a MSi Tomahawk b350. I tried removing all ram except one, but the same issue. CPu doesnt hav igpu. Edit: Today i tried plugging in the psu again (i used the psu in another pc that ran fine) Immedietly when i turned on the switch it made a pop sound, pretty loud. Maybe a capactor blew up? idk, but im replacing the mobo and psu.
It's a Ryzen 7 2700X, and the system has run smoothly for roughly a year.
No changes were made to the PC or its placement before it malfunctioned. CPUs failing after a year of normal operation are uncommon.
Boot issues may stem from a cooler mount adjustment. Replacing all USB connections could also lead to problems. Were you only modifying the external cables or also changing them inside the case?
All external components remained intact, just as usual. I travel between my parents using the PC every couple of weeks without any issues. This time I stayed put, but I’m planning to test a different motherboard.
I once experienced an issue where the CPU indicator lit up a few years back, but it resolved itself after just one day.
