A factory reset will erase all data on the system.
Factory reset restores the device to its original condition at the time of purchase. There are generally two ways to do it: 1. Reinstall Windows while preserving existing files, which can resolve certain OS problems. 2. Reinstall Windows and wipe all current data, usually ensuring issues with the operating system or files are fixed. Some users apply this to remove accumulated clutter like viruses, unnecessary programs, large files, and other unused items.
When I bought it, Windows was already set up, so it should continue to work properly.
I haven't performed a factory reset in years since I assembled my own machine, so I don't have that choice. Keep Windows active (unless you decide to completely erase the drive, which would be option 3). Your personal files will only disappear if you select option 2 from my previous message.
