Meaning I’d need to create an ISO and begin from the beginning. Ugh.

If it's a factory reset, then no. It should restore a system image that is Windows configured exactly when you bought the machine, removing all unwanted software and Windows itself. I recommend doing a factory reset and avoid downloading anything via a browser or connecting to any network except your own until the computer is fully updated. The restored Windows version won't have patches against WannaCry. My advice is to wipe everything, create a new user account, set it as admin, and just do a simple OS cleanup (remove unused programs, etc.).

On startup, the system should display an option to reset to factory settings, enabling a clean installation that includes a drive format reset during setup.

A restart from within Windows essentially means a fresh installation of Windows. That's the plan.

Consider clearing all files and installing Windows using an ISO image.

Reset the PC settings from within Windows. This will avoid needing to reactivate it later.

That would remove all your installed software, games, and files, leaving the system as if it were brand new.
