I understand, I'm focusing on removing just one file.

Consider purchasing a forensic disk analysis tool. Locate the actual file address in sectors, modify those values—set them to zeros, ones, or half values. However, this approach may be too expensive. Instead, simply delete the file and discard it, just like others do when dealing with sensitive or unwanted data. If it contains confidential information or explicit content, you might want to destroy it permanently. Next time, be more specific about your request.

After that, simply change the drive, I’ll handle it the same as the original but from the OP’s perspective. One file... ugh.

It seems like the issue is with overwriting the entire drive instead of just the necessary files. Deleting a small file shouldn't damage the hard drive unless it's critical or corrupted.

I’d rather use fake, weak passwords instead of my own. Switch the login or username too, so anyone snooping has to waste their time. Better than letting a zero-writer or someone else do the work.
