A classic video game.
I’m seeking a game that accompanied a Dell computer purchased in the late 1990s or early 2000s. The game was called Rage! and it possessed a post-apocalyptic, shoot-em-up style. My recollections are fragmented due to my age, but I vividly remember enjoying the game's large plasma weapons. I’m attempting to locate it for a wedding gift, and any assistance would be welcome if anyone recognizes the game.
The Rage was released in 2010/2011 and fulfills the described criteria.
In the 1990s, a developer named Rage Games existed. Perhaps they created one of their games.
It’s not the 2011 game; we were still debating whose turn it was on Frogger 2 and excitedly anticipating our new tower’s DVD player, a welcome addition to our dial-up internet service. I graduated high school in 2007, making it impossible. I considered Rage software, but that only offered a single game. I suspect it might be the actual Rage game, yet I wonder if Dell released an early, immature prototype during development. I’m desperately trying to solve this and can't seem to find the answer.
Could it have been on one of those game sampler discs, popular with older Dell/Gateway computers? I recall a disc featuring a spaceship environment where each room displayed large advertisements for various games/software, allowing you to “enter” and play demos. There were numerous demos, many of which never became full games or were perhaps never intended as such – they served primarily as marketing tools.
