A classic text-based adventure game has been resolved.
Greetings everyone,
In 1988, I possessed a collection of several floppy disks containing games such as Big Rig and Bridge Construction. There was one particular game where I found myself disoriented, appearing in an unfamiliar location with no recollection of my identity. I needed to explore the area in order to… well, I can’t quite recall what I was trying to achieve.
Do you happen to recognize that game? Furthermore, I suspected that the same developer produced Big Rig, Bridge Construction, and bundled them together. I’m unsure whether that specific game was part of the bundle or included with other titles on floppy disk 5.4.
It’s important to note that this was a text-based adventure game, which I acquired around 1988. It’s not Mindshadow—it's a simple text adventure without any visual elements.
Thank you!
Do you mean the computer game “Zork”?
The interactive adventure title, originally released for sale, consisted of three separate games:
“Zork: The Great Underground Empire” – Part One (also referred to as “Zork I”),
“Zork II: The Wizard of Frobozz,” and
“Zork III: The Dungeon Master.” - Wikipedia
It’s not Zork. It feels like a contemporary era within the game I'm attempting to recall.
I discovered the solution. It's known as "NYC Adventure," a component of “Sword and Sorcery Pak,” developed by Keypunch Software.
The primary offering within "Sword and Sorcery Pak" encompasses:
Glass Blades
The Amulet of Yendor
The Golden Wombat
