Hey everyone, just wrapped up my custom loop project for my i9 9900ks this weekend. Running stress tests like AIDA64 at 5.0ghz showed temps in the high 80s. In Prime95 it was mid to high 70s. I’m curious if these numbers are typical for a hot chip with a custom loop. I’ve heard it’s a power-hungry processor, but I thought a custom loop would help keep things cooler. Cheers! — Edited Jan 6, 2020 by alexmchang

Check the voltages produced while operating Aida64 at 5GHz. The CPU likely operates at a higher voltage under normal conditions, which could contribute to increased temperatures.

I didn't verify the voltage levels. Everything was left at standard.

There seems to be an issue. My readings are higher than yours using the noctua-d15 and 9900ks.

cinebench, AIDA 64, and HandBrake are tools used for video processing and editing.

From the image, it seems there was some air in the loop. Has it disappeared after a few days?

You're referring to a CPU block replacement. What BIOS or system settings are currently active on your motherboard?

I've looked into the paste and will definitely ask about it next.
