9900k vs. 11700k
9900k vs. 11700k
You have two home setups and want to combine them into one. Here are some thoughts on CPU choices based on your current hardware: the i9-9900K offers strong performance, while the i7-11700K provides a more balanced experience. Consider what games or workloads you'll run most often and pick accordingly. Your feedback is welcome!
Other than possibly a slight improvement on the 11700k, that’s what I observed. The biggest distinction is that for an unexplained reason, the 9900k was more expensive to buy compared to the 11700k. That’s essentially where this issue began for me.
It aligns better with the 11700k since it's more recent. I had a gut feeling I might overlook details about the 9900k.
The i7 supports quicker memory and PCIe 4.0, whereas the i9 offers a higher default boost clock and a lower TDP. Both have identical core counts; choosing the newer CPU makes sense if you have adequate cooling, as it ensures longer lifespan and better future compatibility.
Newer setup offers improved performance features. The 11700K provides a better IGPU (750 vs 630), supports PCIe 4.0, and includes AVX-512. Older flagship CPUs usually command higher prices since enthusiasts often upgrade to enhance their vintage systems.
