Using the Z390 ACE with my 9900k achieved stable 5GHz performance around 1.300 VR out - V core was 1.360 at mode 3 LLC.
With the 4 phase ASUS z390 Strix E I’m still facing stability issues at 1.350 V core.
I’ve tried various guides, disabled and re-enabled components, even tested different LLC levels (5-6-7), but nothing works.
Now I’m relying on custom cooling, hoping to reach 5.1 but it’s not working due to extreme temperatures.
What’s wrong? 😀

I must mention that the ASUS VRMs aren't particularly strong, and in reality the MSI Z390 ACE performs better. The Gigabyte Z390 models, even the entry-level ones like the Aorus Pro and Aorus Elite, feature 12 phase VRM's that handle the 9900K quite well. Sadly, ASUS didn't deliver good VRMs this time, especially on their budget boards.
