980Ti +550MHz memory OC safe?
980Ti +550MHz memory OC safe?
Hi everyone,
I recently acquired the Gainward Phoenix GS model of 980Ti. After experimenting with Afterburner, Heaven and Firestrike benchmarks, and Kombustor, I’ve noticed stable performance at +110MHz on the core and +550MHz on the memory before instability and artifacts appear.
Looking into what other users are experiencing with similar cards, I found that a core clock bump of +550 seems quite high. Temperatures stay under 75°C and games run smoothly, but I’m curious if more experienced 980Ti owners have insights on whether this clock speed feels excessive or risky based on their own experiences.
Cheers!
It seems the numbers might be a bit high, but temperatures look fine. Each card has its own range, and I haven’t tested mine yet, so I can’t confirm. I’ve noticed some people achieving 7700 or higher. As you look like me, we should keep watching temperatures and stability.

That's a solid overclock. You're using a 980TI with a +175Mhz core and 750Mhz memory overclock, plus a powerboost to 130%. I've got the K|ngp|n edition which offers better power phases and Samsung memory, but it still runs smoothly and stays cool. Your setup sounds great if you're comfortable with stability and temperature control! Well done.
My performance exceeds 600 but I avoid overclocking at all costs since the card already reaches 110% power with just the core overclock. I prefer having the full core overclock instead of reducing memory overclocking. I'm considering a modded GPU BIOS but haven't decided yet.
