Hello, over the past few days I've encountered an issue with my 7800X3D and 9800X3D on ASrock B650 LiveMixer and ASrock X870E Taichi lite boards. (Two PC builds using different PSUs, etc.). I began to notice a clear drop in performance during games. While looking for the cause, benchmarking, and stress tests, I observed that both CPUs hit a maximum power draw of 75W. I haven't adjusted any settings. I didn't update drivers or anything else. In the BIOS I checked all CPU-related parameters such as Eco mode and max TDP, but I didn't see the 75W limit enabled anywhere. I followed these steps one after another: 1. Restored BIOS to factory defaults. 2. Removed the battery to clean CMOS. 3. Applied a profile in the BIOS where both CPU setups were running at full speed. 4. Updated the BIOS to the latest release. 5. Set the "ECO" mode in BIOS to 105W, but still couldn't exceed 75W and performance remained unchanged. After each adjustment I tested, the outcome stayed the same. The temperatures match the 75W power usage, while other HWinfo data look accurate. I'm unsure what to do next. Appreciate any suggestions or solutions you can offer.

Do you have an alternative power supply you can replace to check if it’s the faulty component? Also, consider repositioning the PSU cable connections at both ends. Make sure your power supply isn’t configured in eco mode, as some models have a visible switch that might be accidentally activated during power adjustments.

It seems it's drawing power from just one 4-pin EPS connector.

It's a recognized issue in those models—the CPU is crashing or shutting down unexpectedly. AMD addresses the Ryzen 7 9800X3D problems by pointing to memory compatibility as the cause.

Sure, I'm guessing you're asking about how your CPU gets powered—whether it's using 4 or 8 pins from the power supply to the motherboard.

I have multiple power sources on each computer. I attempted to unplug and plug them back in again.

I attempted to interchange power supplies (Asus Strix Gundam 850W and Seasonic Vertex PX-1000 Platinum), using the original cables from the Seasonic unit instead of a custom one, to see if the issue stemmed from the cable or connector alone.

The guidelines suggest exceeding 75 watts in certain situations. During TPU's evaluation, the typical power draw stayed under 80 in most tests, with an average of 65, while multithreaded stress tests naturally push toward or beyond that threshold.

In Cinebench, I'm testing at 90w on my 7800X3D, giving it a bit more breathing room.
