It relies on how he interprets 'maxed out.' If it means boosting those parameters that hurt performance while offering little return, he's mistaken.

It seems like the system might be limited by its FX CPU.

The eighth choice isn't available in the game settings. He's mistaken, and your card is incorrect.

An older Intel CPU from about three years ago significantly affects gaming performance. It's wise to purchase the K series models to allow future overclocking if needed.

You're achieving high scores with 2xmsaa in BF4, and on a phone you'd likely share a video instead.

Adjusting the resolution scale to 200% and enabling 8x MSAA?

It's not about 1080p, but my 7970 reached Bioshock Infinite at full settings with all the details turned up to maximum at 1050p, consistently over 100fps. Everyone here understands that the 970 really beats the Tahiti XT cards. Your friend is just a really clueless person.

Your card might not be handling the game well. It’s possible the GPU isn’t powerful enough for the settings you’re using, especially if you’re pushing it to its limits.

In 5760x1080 it works fine. (On Medium) In 1920x1080 it manages BF4 without issues, even at full capacity.

Skyrim offers this feature, and I thought similar things apply to other titles like Bioshock Infinite.
