Hello everyone, I was just checking if the Intel 9100f would work with the GTX 1660 Super. Just a heads up, I'm from New Zealand.

It would work nicely, but I won’t think about a rebranded 5-year-old i5.

Four processing units and threads. What makes you want to purchase it initially? More games are now optimized for six cores and numerous threads. Can you take advantage of the 1600AF? @Funnysubject

The Ryzen 2600 isn't competitively priced compared to similar options elsewhere. Running most recent titles on an i3 will likely cause performance issues.

The 2600 adds 50 nzd, and I'm aiming for the 1660 super next.

The Ryzen 5 2600 costs roughly 50 USD more than the 9100F.

Unfortunately, it seems we don’t have the 1600af available.

I'd recommend: Saving up more. Looking for a used 2600 (or the 1600AF). Getting a lower end Zen chip like a 1400 and eventually upgrading to a 3600. I know we're all pushing Zen stuff a lot, but there's a reason for it. The different ways you can upgrade has been great. You aren't so tied down to a single platform with AM4. Intel doesn't have forward or backwards compatibility, and hasn't made many generational improvements except for core count.

You should also consider the costs of the motherboard.
