Hello, here are the details of my setup: Motherboard model MSI z790 wifi max, processor Intel Core i9-14900k, 32GB RAM at 7200 XMP, NVIDIA RTX 3060 graphics, power supply 1000w. I recently tested Cinebench and received these results: CPU multi-core 2183, GPU 7435. Regarding performance issues, my CPU hits 100% during gaming, especially in titles like Call of Duty, with temperatures hovering between 80-90°C. Even during light tasks, it occasionally reaches 100% usage and temps climb to 80-100°C.

You’re confident the pump is operating and increasing as expected?

I believe I need to lower the CPU power, but I’m not sure how to do that.

What version of Cinebench is installed? Are you using the default motherboard settings instead of XMP? While running, capture a HWiNFO Sensors panel screenshot (checking for PL1 and PL2). TL;DR: You purchased a high-end enthusiast system that needs some setup knowledge to use effectively. Many AIO coolers are also known for poor quality and recalls.

It seems like Cinebench 24 is likely running automatically via BIOS.

I thought similarly, then checked 14900k multicore results which hovered near 2170. One core was about 140. That made me worry.

Many believe motherboard makers are at fault these days. Someone familiar with MSI Z790 might guide you in aligning your system with Intel's suggested defaults. MSI is currently sending the board without its safeguards and restrictions.

Check the BIOS settings and adjust PL1 to 150W while setting PL2 to 320W. You’ll likely find similar configurations on your MSI board as well.
