Don't worry about the category, I understand. I shared an 8K video encoded with HEVC to YouTube, but it ended up at 4K instead of the original 8K. The setup details are available in the specs link. The ffmpeg configuration used was: codec hevc_nvenc, main args with rgb0 and 80 MBPS, vf for color space, and audio settings.

YouTube evaluates the highest quality available from your device or browser, which is what you can actually receive. Unless your device or browser supports 8K resolution, you won't find an option for it.

So I just noticed it actually uploads in 8K, but it just mentions "up to 4K." Oops.
