8700K搭配Asus Maximus X Hero稳定性
I'm just starting out with all this, so I'm sorry in advance. My specs are 8700K, Maximus X Hero, H100 V2, 16GB Vengeance DDR4 @ 3200MHZ XMP, and EVGA 750 G3 power supply.
I followed Der8auers' setup guide but adjusted the frequency to 48 and core voltage to 1.30, keeping the LLC at 6.
The problem is it only runs at 4.8 until I start a game, then the core speed drops to 4.5 and it jumps back up to 4.8GHZ. I changed the VCORE to 1.35 but still have the same issue.
I'm wondering if this is normal. As I type this it reads 4.5 and it's a bit annoying, but if it's typical then I'll proceed. I also tried 5.0GHZ with 1.35 VCORE but crashed immediately in Cinebench, so I didn't get a good result.
Are you employing an AVX offset? It appears to be a "bug" from my studies. Although it should only reduce the multiplier during AVX loads, any load beyond two cores causes it to drop. I manually set the offset to 0 using the wireless AC version of the same motherboard and CPU. The multiplier drop was consistent before this change.
And I haven't eaten yet, but I'm preparing to purchase the kit.
The cpu will only reach what it needs to perform. Variations are typical. I created this clip some time ago using my old i5 6600k. It's a brief video. Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vV1gFUrDWlA
Even though it's an older processor, the concepts remain the same.
