Because it's DDR technology, 1200Mhz actually equals 2400Mhz, which might explain the reduced performance compared to others (unless someone else is using your CPU). I won't suggest buying new RAM, and I'm not pushing that idea—it's risky. You could try overclocking your RAM to see if it improves things, but if not, there might be another issue. For more details, check the program for CPU frequency under load and other settings (Sensors-only mode).
