8700k @ 5Ghz
8700k @ 5Ghz
Not long ago I changed my bios from f2 to f14. My motherboard is a Z370 AORUS ULTRA GAMING 2.0. It doesn’t load my saved bios settings, so I had to redo the overclock. I’m now at 5.0Ghz @ 1.28. Temperatures look normal, room temp is around 20°C, and idle temps are 35-40°C. The case isn’t perfect for airflow—my In-Win 303 Mid Tower Case in white works fine. Gaming temps average 60°C, with a max hit of 72°C for a split second (Cod War Zone Ultra settings uncapped). I ran Prime 95 Small and got temps around 80°C, which is okay but I encountered an error. The rounding was 0.5, less than expected by 0.4, suggesting it might need a bit more voltage. Should I increase the voltage slightly or keep it as is? I haven’t seen any crashes or BSODs. Cheers.

Although the "Throttle" temperature is 100°C, it must never be allowed to reach such high levels. If you reached 80°C during P95 Small FFTs (without AVX), then it's acceptable.
The standard operating range for core temperature is as follows:
Temperatures above 85°C are not advised.
Temperatures below 80°C are preferred.
5.0GHz at 1.280 Vcore suggests a solid 8700K performance. Have fun with your rig!
had been without crashes for a few days, temperatures average around 53°C, and the highest I've noticed was 68°C
