8700K 4.7ghz OC Query!
Hi everyone, i recently decided to give overclocking a shot. I watched several tutorials and guides beforehand, just wanting to see if i could push my 8700k to its turbo limit consistently. My goal was simply to check the chip’s and my own performance in terms of temperatures versus core voltage.
Right now, my vcore is stable at 1.220 with no fluctuations in cpuz or hwinfo during realbench stress tests. Temperatures stayed between 65-72°C, reaching a peak of 75°C. I haven’t tried lowering the vcore further because it seemed fine, but i thought sharing this might help someone more experienced.

Is your mainboard MCE functional or active?
When MCE is turned on, the CPU usually only increases clock speeds when under heavy demand, and with MCE it attempts to boost all cores to maximum turbo if necessary.
If power limits or temperatures stay within BIOS settings, you might still see clocks reduced back to 800–1200 MHz while browsing in balanced power mode.
Running Prime95 while checking HWMonitor can help—if all cores reach 4.7 GHz, it suggests MCE is enabled.
75°C is acceptable, especially since I observe all cores turboing at 4.7 GHz on my 7700K, though there are two additional cores available.
