I'm having trouble getting the 970 sc to overclock properly—it crashes even with a slight increase. With the other card at 4.5 and another 970 on its way, I'm trying to run it on the ASUS 970 Pro Gamer board. Right now I'm getting 8670 on Fire Strike with just one 970, but I can't push the current 970 sc without it crashing. Will I be able to overclock either card if I can't get this one? The display driver keeps crashing or showing artifacts. Is there something I'm doing incorrectly in Afterburner? Thanks, Ben

The 8320e isn't capable of running even one 970, and the second one would be a total loss. Choose either i5 or i7 instead.

The 8320e cannot even handle a single 970, the second one would be a total loss. i5 or i7, don't waste time on the second card.

overclocking won't help unless you get a better CPU first.

I have another setup running at 8350 clocked at 4.7ghz with water cooling and a single GTX 970 (overclocked to 1500 cores and 4000 memory).
The bottleneck is apparent but not so severe that it makes the system unusable, just a minor inconvenience

I understand it's not an i5 or i7, but I still achieve solid frame rates using both 970s in sli. The Firestrike score is 24,000 and the graphics score is quite low for a 132$ processor with 700$ in video cards, right? That does seem pretty bad for this chipset. Passmark stands at 10,500 at 4.5ghz. Fallout 4 runs smoothly with Ultra settings, even on a 970, which I've read works well across different processors.

Fallout 4 runs smoothly with Ultra settings, even on a 970, though benchmarks usually try to hide CPU limitations. For games that use just one thread, the performance won't match what a sli 970 can deliver.
