Not every motherboard comes with eight memory slots because manufacturers design them based on different needs and form factors. Having more slots can be beneficial for certain configurations, but it’s not a universal requirement.

Typical users usually don't need 8 DIMM slots. They're mainly used on premium desktops with high-end CPUs such as AMD Ryzen Threadripper or Intel Core Extreme, where additional RAM and data transfer are essential.

It's unclear why the motherboard lacks eight memory slots. The reason could vary based on design choices or intended use.

the lower end of a motherboard makes it more likely to come with a lower-end CPU. this implies that if the CPU is basic, it won’t have enough bandwidth to handle 8 memory slots. therefore, adding more slots isn’t necessary unless you really need them. it’s worth noting that 8 slots aren’t always required—16GB is often sufficient, and most boards include two slots for two 8GB sticks or even four dual channels if you prefer. a $2500 build is a reasonable investment for a gaming rig, with $500 being a typical minimum spend.

They offer dual channel options. The optimal setup would be two slots, but four is acceptable since users often want the flexibility to add more later. However, memory architecture increases pressure on the IMC. Eight slots probably wouldn<|pad|> to be impractical, even with a manufacturer that supports it. Current dual channel boards are quad channel, meaning the concept remains similar—four slots for performance, eight for future upgrades.

it really catches the eye, especially with an i9. it doesn’t feel necessary, but picture a rampage vi extreme paired with 8 sticks of royal elite—it’s all about the appearance. i think an i9 would benefit from 8 memory slots, honestly.
