You should check compatibility before using the PSU. An 8-pin PSU won’t support the i9 9900K, so you’ll likely need a 24-pin power supply for stable operation.

Which power supply unit? I wouldn't run that CPU without the necessary power.

It's a Corsair CX600, and I'm just checking the CPU and motherboard connections.

Assuming everything else is set, you only require the 8-pin EPS for the CPU. The additional 4-pin part is meant for heavy overclocking—something you can't achieve with ambient cooling. The 8-pin can deliver up to 384W of power, which a 9900K won’t reach unless pushed very hard. You’ll also need RAM. Updated July 23, 2020 by TofuHaroto

I possess a 4GB storage device that I can utilize while you wait for additional memory to be delivered.

Avoid the extra 4-pin during overclocking a 9900K with ambient cooling. You'll hit thermal limits well before you approach the max of an 8-pin setup. Consider a fresh PSU for the ultimate configuration—CX600 is outdated.

The CX green models are known for their poor performance and general lack of reliability. Choose something with a higher chance of working.
