my computer crashed after getting burned. I rebuilt it two years ago after someone gave me a motherboard for free, but now only four GB of RAM are visible while the BIOS lists eight. I've used msconfig and tried booting with one stick; both sticks work, though inserting a second stick in the wrong slot prevents dual-booting. Cpuz and AIDA64 still show eight GB, but Windows reports only four. Could you check the RAM modules or BIOS settings?

This seems like a mix-up about Windows versions. It looks like someone might be confusing 32-bit and 64-bit requirements. The note mentions a 4GB limit, which is relevant for 32-bit systems. Absolutely confirmed, RAM sticks were inspected and other units booted successfully on a single stick.
I located a workaround recently after dedicating four hours to adjusting and replacing RAM modules.
