Many processors face delays, especially the 3600 model, which may restrict performance at 1080p. A 2080 Ti running at 1080p could still hit around 3700X, depending on settings.

Ok my conclusions is that the new XBOX has 8 cores at 3.8GHz or 3.6GHZ with SMT enabled? Ok that means a quad-core at 5GHz or hexa-core at 4GHz should be able to keep up? I personally think a hexa-core might be the safer bet here... Anyone here agree that the new Intel Core i5-10 series or R5-3k series will at the very least at 12 threads be a logical bet? There is no need to "future proof" by buying a octo-core this early? Last time 8-threads was smart since consoles had 8 but now?

I believe a strong 6/12 chip can remain useful for many years before it feels outdated, mainly due to slower performance rather than missing cores. When discussions about future-proofing focus, they often refer to having more resources to enjoy games longer. In this sense, upgrading to higher core counts isn't necessary unless you anticipate needing advanced capabilities like rendering or video editing later. A 6/12 chip works well for gaming, streaming, and everyday tasks, but it can be adapted for future needs if required.

It’s tough for those who want to upgrade now to decide what’s best, and honestly, I might not know myself if I were planning an upgrade this year. If my system fails right now, I’d likely consider a Ryzen 5 3600x for a fresh build—it offers solid value and should suffice for my current needs.
