I installed Process Lasso and configured it to use frequency cores while keeping cache cores for games. This setup aims to lower latency and minimize micro stutters. Since you already have cache enabled, there are no major conflicts. Just keep an eye on performance and adjust settings if needed. No special warnings for Windows 11 Pro—everything is up to date.

Suggest skipping the mentioned details. Follow AMD's recommendation to install the 3D v-cache optimizer driver. However, a UEFI configuration overrides these problems. It blocks CCD0 and turns off the driver. In advanced CPU settings, choosing CPPC Preferred Cores as 'cache' ensures CCD0 is prioritized. This keeps CCD1 idle occasionally for background work. I've adjusted these parameters and the driver defaults to 'auto'. The microstuttering you mentioned likely stems from CCD negotiation issues. The main drawback is that single-threaded tasks won't utilize CCD1 properly, turning it into a 7800x3D setup with CCD1 in standby. The full 16C/32T performance comes only when using CCD0. You could potentially adjust Processor Affinity in Task Manager for specific apps needing extra speed, but this isn't a reliable fix. Most users report similar results without this setting.

These microstutters are somewhat bothersome, which is why I was looking for a solution. I already have prefer cache enabled, but sometimes the games switch to the second CCD, triggering that brief stutter before it resets. Is there any way to resolve this?

You can verify this by adjusting Processor Affinity settings in the Detail section of Task Manager for the specific app. Turn off Cores 16-31 (beginning at 0) for that application and observe whether cores are still allocated. This will direct the app to CCD0 and help determine if microstutters stem from the 7950x3D hardware setup. Alternatively, you can disable CCD1 in the UEFI by reconfiguring the CCDs to see if the problem persists. This may indicate spillover into CCD1.

I attempted and it still showed minor microstutters, they're uncommon and won't break the game. Probably because the game is running at over 400 frames per second, and it's Rainbow Six Siege.

Are you running the Balanced Power Plan or have you switched to High Performance? Otherwise, a complete reinstall might be necessary. If required, remove the Chipset driver and reinstall it fully. The driver itself can lead to these problems if it's not correctly configured.

i'm using the balanced power plan. i think it's just a game issue. i went to my friend's house, played many games, and noticed some microstutters in several titles. he runs on intel, so it might be normal. they are very small and rare. i also did around 20 reinstalls—clean installs for windows—but sometimes i still get them, even on my older pc with a 3080.

You can observe in the video that at 2k low settings similar to yours, he experiences these brief glitches. Probably just a game-related issue.

I've tested various R6S versions on my 4090 and 7950x3D, experimenting with different APIs like DirectX and Vulkan. I usually used Vulkan, but the game isn't updated yet—maybe adjusting some settings could fix this problem.
