I mainly use local offers with cash payments. I like to skip eBay for better prices.

I don't think you should buy a 3 year old 12 core cpu unless you can utilize all the cores and don't need good ipc. I, like everyone else, would recommend the 3900x or 5900x because they will preform better and are more modern. Unless you have a good deal on the 7920x, I wouldn't buy it.

Streaming and gaming look significantly improved at 3900x compared to 7960x. The 450$ price tag seems excessive, while a 3700x version is available for under $300.

They remain expensive, yet given the current CPU/GPU scarcity, it makes sense. Prices are likely close to the manufacturer's suggested retail price, and a 10-20% reduction for new stock would be ideal. Still worth considering for today’s requirements. I previously used DDR4-3200 CL16 Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 2x8GB kits (two sets) with my 9800X, which performed well before I stopped using it.

Do you reside in the USA? If yes, there are numerous platforms such as Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist where you can locate CPUs nearby.
